THE KICKOFF
The Lincoln football team steps away from GLVC play to host another HBCU on Saturday (Nov. 9), as the Blue Tigers host Lane at 12:00 p.m. CST. With next Monday (Nov. 11) being Veteran's Day, Lincoln will celebrate members of the military and other first responders on Saturday.

Lincoln dropped a 52-7 decision to Truman State in Kirksville, Mo. last Saturday (Nov. 2) and will try to snap a four-game skid this weekend. LU has finished the road portion of its slate and this week will close out its non-conference schedule, with just one more league game left in the 2024 season.

Lane enters the weekend with a 3-6 record after a 37-23 loss to Edward Waters snapped a brief two-game win streak. Lane owns wins over Savannah State, Central State and Benedict this season and has scored at least 20 points in seven of its nine contests this season.

QUICK HITS
- Lane is one of Lincoln's oldest opponents, with the Blue Tigers and the Dragons meeting for the first time in 1931. Lincoln won that contest, 34-9.

- Saturday marks the 17th meeting all-time between Lane and Lincoln, with the Blue Tigers leading the series, 10-6.

- Lincoln has won the last two meetings in this series, as the Blue Tigers beat Lane on a neutral field, 10-7, to open the 2018 season, and also notched a 12-9 victory against the Dragons in Jefferson City back in 2016.

- A victory for Lincoln would give the Blue Tiger multiple wins in a season for the first time since 2018.

- Lincoln is playing for multiple home wins in a season for the first time since 2014, when the Blue Tigers beat both Quincy and Texas College. The Blue Tigers earned a 40-14 victory against Lincoln (CA) in Reed Stadium on Oct. 5.

- A win would be the first for the Blue Tigers in the month of November since ending 2013 with back-to-back wins.

- Lincoln is the only GLVC program that started the 2024 campaign with four-consecutive league games.

- The Blue Tigers enter this weekend with an all-time record of 262-504-25.

- Moses Harper was named the head coach of the Lincoln football team in 2024. He is in his first season leading the Blue Tigers and has both an overall and program record of 1-8 entering this week.

- Lincoln, which was a full member of the MIAA for 26 years (overall), is joining the GLVC in 2024. The Blue Tigers, who were an associate member of the GLVC from 2014-18, have played in five different conferences in their 92-year history: the Midwest Athletic Association (MWAA), the Great Lakes Football Conference (GLFC), the Central States Football League (CSFL), the GLVC and the MIAA.

- This is the 93rd season of Lincoln football. The Blue Tigers first fielded a team in 1920 and played every year until 1943, when Lincoln took a year off due to World War II. LU then played each season from 1944-1989. The football program was disbanded at that point, but was brought back in 2000. Lincoln did not play a full schedule in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Prior to joining Lane, Brown worked at a number of Division I schools, including Texas Southern, Grambling State and Alabama State.
