INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After leading the conference and ranking 23rd in the country in punting, Lincoln's Clayton Winkler was named to the All-GLVC first team, the league office announced on Tuesday (Nov. 26). Four other members of the LU football team were honored, as long-snapper Ifeanyi Mbagwu was named All-GLVC second team while running back Jareese Howard, offensive lineman Khi'Len Gates and kicker Mo Alwaely were each selected as All-GLVC honorable mentions.

Winkler spent nearly the entire season leading the GLVC and ranked among the top-20 in NCAA Division II in punting, as he averaged 42.5 yards on 71 kicks, none of which were blocked. Winkler had 13 kicks travel further than 50 yards with a long of 68 and 20 of those punts pinned opponents inside their own 20.

Mbagwu was a critical part of a Lincoln special teams unit that was one of the best in the conference in 2024. In addition to Winkler's special season, kicker Mo Alwaely finished third in the league in field goal percentage (.600) and had the longest field goal by a conference player with a 50-yard kick in the Blue Tigers' win over Lincoln (CA) on Homecoming. Alwaely made nine field goals and averaged 50.1 yards on kickoffs with six touchbacks.

Howard was Lincoln's top rusher in 2024, leading the GLVC with 6.4 yards per carry while finishing seventh in the conference with 54.8 yards per game. Howard gained 548 yards on the ground and five touchdowns, including one on an 86-yard rush. Gates, meanwhile, blocked for an offense that generated over 2,500 yards of total offense as well as 12 touchdowns.
