PREVIEWING THE BLUE TIGERS:  Hanne Nybo recorded a double-double in Lincoln's first game of 2024-25, tallying 13 points and 12 rebounds in LU's win over Harris Stowe. Kiara Cabrera added 12 points while Ayreona Carter, who pulled down six rebounds, was next with seven points. Emma Wolken and Biance Stocks each scored five points.

HEAD COACH ADDAE HOUSTON:  A 17-year coaching veteran with strong ties to Missouri, Houston is in his first season as the head coach of the Blue Tigers. Houston helped DI Northwestern State record a .714 home winning percentage in 2023-24 following a successful four-year run as an assistant coach at Northwest Missouri, his alma mater. He was the head coach at Southwestern Community College from 2013-18, leading the team to its first postseason win in over a decade.

LAST TIME OUT:  Lincoln out-scored Harris Stowe, 49-28, through the first three quarters and held off a late comeback bid to earn a 58-42 win in its season-opener on Wednesday (Nov. 13). The Blue Tigers forced 18 turnovers and scored 17 on those takeaways to win the match-up of the two HBCUs in the state of Missouri.

SCOUTING THE ICHABODS:  Through the first six games of the season, Yiibari Nwidadah leads Washburn with 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Payton Sterk, who leads WU with 3.2 assists per contest, is next on the scoring chart with 15.8 per night, and Gabi Giovannetti is next with a 12.0 scoring average. As a team, the Ichabods shoot .441 from the field but just .296 from three-point land.

WU HEAD COACH LORA WESTLING:  In her third season as the head coach at her alma mater, Westling has led the Ichabods to 25 wins and has coached three All-MIAA selections. As a player at Washburn, Westling led the program to its first national championship and is currently 10th in the program's history in career assists (299) as well as 14th in three-point shooting (.363). Before coming to Washburn, she coached at Western Colorado.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFONS:  Alyssa Bonilla is leading Missouri Western in both scoring (13.0) and assists (5.5) while averaging 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 steal per game. Matilda Soderlund is next on the scoring list with 10.0 points per contest, and Marie Sepp (9.8 ppg.) and Tiani Ellison (9.5 ppg.) are close to averaging double digits. Jessica Ford leads MWSU with 5.5 rebounds per game.

MWSU HEAD COACH ASHTON FELDHAUS:  The first-year head coach of the Griffons joined Missouri Western after a five-year stint as the top assistant at Eckard. Feldhaus helped Eckard go 91-28 in that span and make the NCAA Division II tournament every year. In 2023, she guided the Tritons to a Sweet 16 appearance.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS:  Four players on this year's Southwest Baptist squad average at least 10 points per game, including Amber Storr, who tallies 13.5 points and a team-best 2.3 assists. Odett Schlegl leads SBU with 14.0 points per night and Kristin Edmonds is averaging 11 ppg. Tori Hamilton, who also averages 11.0 points per game, is leading the Bearcats with 8.8 rebounds per contest.

SBU HEAD COACH WYKETHA HARRELL:  The second-year head coach of Southwest Baptist is 12-20 with the Bearcats. Harrell spent eight years as the associate head coach at NCAA Division I New Orleans, highlighted by one of the longest home winning streaks in program history. She also worked at DI schools Kent State and UMKC.

SCOUTING THE MINERS:  Despite not starting any of Missouri S&T's three games (as of Nov. 22), Morgan Luebbering is leading the team with 11.7 points per contest. She is the only Missouri S&T player averaging double figures, as the next leading scorer, Katelynne Roberts, averages 9.0 points as well as a team-high 5.3 rebounds. Four other Missouri S&T players average just over 7.0 points: Nora Gum, Franchesca Metz, Addyson Kent and Bonnie Lew Ludlow.

MST HEAD COACH KIRA CARTER:  In her fifth year as the head coach at Missouri S&T, Carter has helped the team improve every season, including posting a record above .500 for the first time in a decade in 2022-23. Carter spent two seasons on the staff at Sam Houston State and a year at Milwaukee, both of which are NCAA Division I programs.

STRONG START:  With a 58-42 win over Harris Stowe, the Blue Tigers won their season-opener for the third-straight year.
