THE TIP OFF:
Fresh off a dominant and historic home win, the Lincoln women's basketball team travels to the Sooner State this week for a pair of MIAA games against Oklahoma-based programs. On Thursday (Jan. 18), LU visits Claremore, Okla. to play Rogers State at 5:30 p.m. CST. On Saturday (Jan. 20), Lincoln travels to Tahlequah, Okla. to play Northeastern State at 1:30 p.m. CST. Last Saturday (Jan. 13), the Blue Tigers rolled to a 77-64 home win over Washburn, the first-ever for Lincoln against the Ichabods. Lincoln led for most of the contest, including holding a 19-point lead late in the fourth quarter. Rogers State has dropped three of its last four games, including falling to Central Oklahoma, 69-60, on Saturday. NSU, meanwhile, is on a three-game winning streak.

LAST TIME OUT

Emporia State 68, Lincoln 62

The Blue Tigers scored 44 points on .550 shooting in the second half, but LU's rally fell short in a 68-62 loss to Emporia State on Thursday night (Jan. 11) in Jason Gym. Ashlyn Alloway had a huge night, scoring 33 points to go with seven boards and three blocks. Steph Torres finished with six points and four assists while AJ Bradley tallied eight steals.

Lincoln 77, Washburn 64

Imani Jones scored 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Lincoln to a 77-64 victory over Washburn on Thursday (Jan. 13). Saniya Simmons added 13 points, seven assists and four steals as the Blue Tigers forced the Ichabods into 21 total turnovers. Biance Stocks and Steph Torres each scored nine points while Ashlyn Alloway finished with eight points and six rebounds as Lincoln beat Washburn for the first time in program history.

NSU HEAD COACH KEITH FERGUSON:

Under Ferguson's leadership, Bethany had six-straight winning seasons, with three 20-win campaigns. Ferguson coached 16 all-conference selections and one All-American.

SECOND WATCH:
AJ Bradley has excelled at getting to the line, as, in four years at Lincoln, she has attempted 409 free throws. Bradley has made 276 of those attempts and has moved into third place all-time in program history in total career made free throws. She passed Sheila Lee, who made 257 free throws between 2001-04. Bradley is now 23 free throws away from second place, held by Andrea Sykes, who made 298 shots at the line from 1995-99.

TORR DE FORCE:
Steph Torres, who leads Lincoln with 2.9 assists per game, has emerged as LU's second-leading scorer with 12.3 points per night. Torres has the MIAA's ninth-most assists (44) and her 32.3 minutes per game are the eighth-most in the league.

SHOOTING STAR:
Ashlyn Alloway is shooting .550 from the field, a shooting percentage that ranks third in the MIAA and 30th in NCAA Division II. Alloway has made 99 total field goals, the third-most by an MIAA player and the 34th-most in the country. Alloway, who also rates 77th nationally in scoring (16.6), is additionally shooting .462 from three-point range and .726 at the free throw line.

ALL-COURT ALLOWAY:
Ashlyn Alloway leads the Blue Tigers on both sides of the court, emerging as LU's best player on both offense and defense. Alloway averages 16.6 points as well as 7.8 rebounds, both of which are team highs. Alloway, who is ninth in the MIAA in rebounding, has also blocked 18 shots, the fifth-most in the conference and the 80th-most in NCAA Division II.

TAKE IT AWAY:
The Blue Tigers excel at pressuring their opponents, creating an average of 17.8 turnovers per night, the third-most of any MIAA team. Unsurprisingly, Lincoln also ranks third in the conference in steals with 9.7 per game. AJ Bradley is LU's top thief with 33 steals, the fifth-most by an MIAA player in 2023-24.
