PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Lincoln men's track & field team scored 37 points to finish in eighth place at the 2023 MIAA Indoor Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 25-26).
Kewani Campbell placed third in the 800m, timing in at 1:51.25, and he later teamed with
Troy Whyte,
Shanthamoi Brown and
Reuben Nichols to place second with a time of 3:12.12. Nichols, meanwhile, took fourth in both the 200m (21.50) and the 400m (47.19).
Rashane Bartlett claimed fourth in the 60m hurdles in 7.84, and
Shemar Fletcher finished sixth in the 60m dash after clocking in at 6.85.
Donovan Bruce rounded out LU in the track events with an eighth-place showing in the 600-yard, as he timed in at 1:13.24.
In the triple jump,
Malik Drummond came in fifth with a distance of 14.68m.
Dejone Raymond posted a length of 13.87m to come in 10th.
Lincoln will now wait to see how many entries it will have in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held in Virginia Beach, Va. on March 10-11.
