PITTSBURG, Kan. - Lincoln's men's and women's outdoor track & field teams won two events and posted 20 top-10 results at the 8th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University this weekend (Feb. 10-11).
Kewani Campbell won the men's 600-yard with a time of 1:11.07, with
DauJaughn Murray taking eighth in 1:12.03. Campbell also placed fourth in the 800m (1:50.58), and combined with Murray,
Shanthamoi Brown and
Kevaughn Goldson to place seventh in the 4x400m in 3:15.47.
Reuben Nichols claimed fifth in the 400m (47.49) and eighth in the 200m (21.71) while, in the latter event,
Shemar Fletcher took 10th (21.73). In the 60m hurdles,
Rashane Bartlett (7.96) and
Troy Whyte (8.03) respectively finished in fifth and sixth. Meanwhile, in the field events,
Dejone Raymond took second in the high jump (1.96m) while
Malik Drummond finished sixth in the triple jump (14.47m).
Shenese Walker won the women's 60m dash in 7.41, and
Hughasia Fyffe took sixth in 7.64. Walker, meanwhile, was the runner-up of the 200m, timing in at 24.59.
Shantae George finished seventh in the 200m after clocking in at 24.85.
George (56.43) and
Shevanae Thomas (57.05) placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 400m.
Chrissani May finished third in the 600-yard after timing in at 1:236.53, and
Sophia Myers rounded out LU in the track events by posting a time of 8.50 in the 60m hurdles, good for third place.
Annalisa Barclay, meanwhile, was the runner-up of the triple jump with a distance of 12.11m.
