Women's Basketball Signs Eight for 2022-23


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Head coach Andrea Mize announced on Thursday (July 14) that eight student-athletes have signed letters of intent to continue their playing careers with the Blue Tigers, beginning with the upcoming 2022-23 season.
 
Alex Gordon (Palm Beach, Fla.) will join the Blue Tigers as a senior. Aysia Arrowood (Wichita, Kan.), Miriam Bazylewicz (Madrid, Spain) and Lenlee Klusman (Winter Park, Fla.) will join Lincoln as sophomores. Ashlyn Alloway, Micah Landry and Saniya Simmons, all three of whom are from Olathe, Kan., join Hanne Lokkebo Nybo (Norway) as true freshmen.
 
Gordon, who served as a graduate assistant for the Blue Tigers in 2021-22, spent three seasons as an NCAA Division I athlete, most recently playing at North Florida in 2019-20. Gordon also played two years at Florida International University, earning a spot on the Conference USA All-Freshman Team in 2016-17. Gordon made 38 starts at FIU and averaged 9.4 points as a sophomore. Gordon, a 5-8 guard, was a McDonald's All-American nominee in high school after scoring over 1,000 points and earning all-conference distinction.
 
Arrowood, a 5-9 guard, averaged 8.2 points and 3.7 rebounds as a freshman at Kansas City (Kan.) Community College. Arrowood, who played in 29 games and averaged 21.7 minutes, additionally dished 32 assists and recorded 20 steals. Prior to joining the Blue Devils, Arrowood averaged 10 points per game on .400 shooting as a senior at Valley Center High.
 
Bazylewicz played two seasons at Independence Community College, averaging 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. During her COVID-freshman season in 2021-22, Bazylewicz led the Pirates to a 24-7 overall record while tallying 9.8 points and 5.1 boards per contest. A 6-0 combination guard and forward, Bazylewicz played her high school ball at IES Jorge Manrique.
 
A two-time Academic All-American at John Wood Community College, Klusman averaged 11.4 points per game in 2021-22. Klusman, a 5-8 guard, started 23 games for the Blazers and shot .423 from the field and pulled down 4.5 rebounds per night while dishing 27 assists and registering 25 steals. Klusman was the salutatorian of her class at Lake Howell High, where she also was an All-Seminole Athletic Conference first team performer.
 
Alloway (5-11, forward), Landry (6-0, combo forward/center) and Simmons (5-2, guard) combined to help Olathe North High go undefeated during the 2021-22 regular season and earn the No. 1 seed in the Kansas Class 6A state tournament. Olathe North, which was perfect in district play, ultimately made it to the state semifinals, where the team fell to Washburn Rural, 44-43. All three players were McDonald's All-American nominees. Alloway averaged 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, and Landry averaged 3.6 points and 7.6 boards. Simmons, meanwhile, averaged 6.7 points and 3.9 steals per contest.
 
Nybo, a 5-11 forward, played for the Ulriken Eagles, Norway's national U-16 team.
