EMPORIA, Kan. - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team broke two records, won five events and scored 93 points to take third place at the 2022 MIAA Championships, hosted by Emporia State University on Sunday (May 8).
Kelly-Ann Beckford won both the 1500m (4:33.44) and the 800m (2:06.41), with her time in the latter event becoming a new MIAA Outdoor Championship record.
Chrissani May took second, timing in at 2:07.52. In the 4x400m relay, the LU foursome of Beckford, May,
Maria Diamond and
Shantae George posted the winning time of 3:38.77, a new Welch Stadium facility record.
Diamond was the champion of the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 58.00, and
Shanette Allison won the 100m hurdles in 13.58. Sophia Myers took third in the latter event, finishing in 13.71. In the 4x100m relay, the team of George,
Monae Carey, Hughasia Fyffe and
Shevanae Thomas came in third after posting a time of 46.45.
Diamond (55.13) finished in fourth and Thomas (1:13.29) rounded out the top-eight in the 400m dash, and George placed fourth in the 100m dash after clocking in at 11.81. In the 200m, George (24.01) took third and Thomas (36.94) claimed eighth.
Anna Barclay, meanwhile, took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.96m.
