JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Tuesday (May 31) that members of Lincoln's men's and women's outdoor track & field teams combined to earn 28 total All-American awards.
The Lincoln men, who finished in sixth at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships last week (May 26-28), won the national title in the 4x400m relay, and all four members -
Shanthamoi Brown,
Kewani Campbell,
Reuben Nichols and
Troy Whyte - were named first team All-Americans. Campbell and Whyte each earned first team All-American status in the 400m hurdles, while Nichols was a first team selection in the 4x100m relay and a second team honoree in the 400m.
Jamar Treasure also earned multiple All-American honors, achieving first team status in the 4x100m relay and second team recognition in the 100m.
Shemar Fletcher and
Imar Tomlinson rounded out LU's first team honorees in the 4x100m relay, and
Rashane Bartlett earned first team All-American honors in the 110m hurdles.
Kizan David closed out the Lincoln men by earning first team All-American status in the long jump after finishing as the national runner-up.
Four members of the Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team earned multiple All-American honors, including
Kelly-Ann Beckford, who was a first team All-American in the 800m after winning the national championship in that event. Beckford,
Chrissani May,
Maria Diamond and
Shevanae Thomas also earned first team All-American honors in the 4x400m relay, as the Blue Tigers were the national runner-up in that event. May was also a first team All-American selection in the 800m, and Diamond earned first team accolades in the 400m hurdles.
Thomas was also one of four first team All-Americans in the 4x100m relay, joining
Monae Carey, Hughasia Fyffe and
Shantae George.
Shanette Allison rounded out LU's first team honorees in the 100m hurdles.
Anna Barclay and Sophia Myers each earned second team All-American awards, with Barclay achieving the status in the triple jump and Myers garnering the honor in the 100m hurdles.
To earn first team All-American status, a student-athlete must finish among the top-eight in any event at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships. To achieve second team All-American status, a student-athlete must finish between ninth and 12th in any event.
