MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln women's track & field team won the distance medley, and nine Blue Tigers qualified for event finals on the first full day of the 2022 MIAA Indoor Championships, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University on Saturday (Feb. 26).
The foursome of
Chrissani May,
Jameaka Mannings,
Maria Diamond and
Kelly-Ann Beckford won the MIAA championship after finishing the distance medley in 11:53.02. That gave LU 10 points, placing the Blue Tigers in ninth place.
Danneika Lyn (7.51) and Hughasia Fyffe (7.58) each qualified for the finals of the 60m dash, while
Shanette Allison timed in at 8.51 to earn the right to represent LU in the finals of the 60m hurdles. May posted a time of 2:13.35 in the 800m and will run in the finals, as will Beckford, who timed in at 2:13.55.
Diamond ran the 600-yard in 1:24.16 to advance to the finals, while
Shevanae Thomas posted a time of 24.99 to reach the finals of the 200m. Lincoln also had two qualifiers in the 400m, as Thomas timed in at 55.50, and Mannings checked in at 56.65.
The majority of the scored events, including all event finals, of the MIAA Championship meet will take place on Sunday (Feb. 27).
