PITTSBURG, Kan. - Lincoln's women's and men's track & field teams combined to post 11 top-10 finishes at the 7th Annual Gorilla Indoor Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 11-12).
The LU women took second in the distance medley, with the foursome of
Chrissani May,
Jameaka Mannings,
Shevanae Thomas and
Kelly-Ann Beckford clocking in with a provisional time of 11:57.71. Mannings also place third in the 400m, timing in at 56.19, while
Maria Diamond placed third in 55.64.
Danneika Lyn took fourth in the 60m dash in 7.56, and
Nehlia Mills claimed sixth in the high jump (1.57m) while
Anna Barclay placed seventh in the triple jump (11.50m).
Kewani Campbell led the Lincoln men with a second place result in the 600-yard run, posting a time of 1:10.93. In the 60m hurdles,
Rashane Bartlett (7.95) finished in third and
Troy Whyte (8.30) came in sixth. Whyte previously won the qualifying rounds in 8.18, and posted a time of 8.11 in the preliminaries.
Reuben Nichols claimed sixth in the 400m, timing in at 47.91. In the field events,
Kizan David led LU with a distance of 7.17m in the long jump.
