TOPEKA, Kan. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team won two events and posted 10 top-10 finishes at the Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge, hosted by Washburn University on Thursday (Feb. 10).
Maria Diamond won the 400m, leading four Blue Tigers in the top-10 with a time of 55.47.
Shevanae Thomas placed third in 56.82, and
Jameaka Mannings came in sixth with a time of 57.29.
Aliyah George rounded out Lincoln with a time of 59.74, good for 10th place.
Anna Barclay had LU's other victory, as she won the triple jump with a distance of 11.90m.
Nehlia Mills came in ninth in that event, posting a distance of 10.16m.
Chrissani May, meanwhile, timed in at 2:17.12 to finish as the runner-up in the 800m.
Kelly-Ann Beckford claimed ninth in the mile, timing in at 5:04.87, and
Monae Carey took ninth in the 60m after clocking in at 7.89.
Danneika Lyn placed 10th in the 200m, timing in at 25.70.
The Blue Tigers will remain in Kansas this weekend to compete in the 7th Annual Gorilla Indoor Classic, hosted in Pittsburg, Kan. by Pittsburg State on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 11-12).
