KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second-straight week, Lincoln senior
Kissi-Ann Brown has been selected as the MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week. The league office announced the honor, which was voted upon by a select panel of conference sports information directors, on Tuesday (Feb. 4).
Brown continued her winning ways at the Wendy's/Pitt State Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan. on Saturday (Feb. 1), picking up two victories, one of which ranks her among the best in the country. Brown took the 400m in 55.27, the second-fastest time in the MIAA and fifth-quickest mark in NCAA Division II. Brown also teamed with
Melissa Tyme, Chrissani May and Kelly-Ann Beckford in the distance medley to win with a time of 12:10.32.
This is the second-straight, and second career, MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week award for Brown, who was honored on Jan. 28 for an outstanding performance at the Jayhawk Classic. This is also the third MIAA Athlete of the Week honor of 2019-20 for a member of the LU women's track & field team, as
Rene Medley was the league's first women's track athlete of the week selection of the season.
Lincoln heads to Maryville, Mo. on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 7-8) for the Bearcat Open, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
