LINCOLN, Neb. - The Lincoln bowling team averaged 156.8 pins en route to a 10th-place showing at the Big Red Invitational, hosted by the University of Nebraska last weekend (March 1-3).
DaiMone Lewis led the Blue Tigers with a total pinfall of 877, averaging 175.4 pins for the tournament. Lewis opened traditional play by knocking down 189 pins before a 199 result in the second game. For the tourney, Lewis finished 36th overall.
Nina Theroff averaged 172.4 pins to finish just behind Lewis at 37th in the individual standings. Theroff bowled three games with scores above 180, including a single-game high score of 191.
Finishing right behind Theroff in 38th-place was
Chyann Taylor, who averaged 168.8 pins and led the team with a single game-high score of 213 in the fourth traditional match.
DeAsia Britton, meanwhile, knocked down 826 pins to come in 40th while
Cally Vandegriffe averaged 125.8 pins and
Betsy Britt bowled a 98 in her only match of the tournament.
The Blue Tigers will conclude the 2018-19 regular season at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn. on March 15-17.
