JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln bowling team heads to Warrensburg, Mo. on Sunday (Feb. 10) for a short, one-day competition at the University of Central Missouri.

This will be the first competition for the Blue Tigers since the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational, where Dominique Lee led LU by finishing 35th overall with an average of 174.3 pins. Nina Theroff was next for LU, finishing 43rd overall with an average of 169.3 pins and a high of 195, while Chyann Taylor placed close behind, taking 44th with a 166.3 average. DaiMone Lewis averaged 164.0 pins and Betsy Britt rounded out Lincoln at 163.3.

Lincoln was previously in action at the Mid-Winter Invitational (Jan. 11-13), where Theroff finished 17th out of 128 competitors with an average pinfall of 198.0. Taylor averaged 167.6 pins, followed by Lewis (167.0), DeAsia Britton (146.0) and Britt (93.6).

That was the first tournament of 2019 for the Blue Tigers, who had been off since Nov. 17-18, when LU finished 13th at the Striking Knights Classic. Dominique Lee knocked down 1,170 pins to lead LU with an average of 195.0, while Theroff averaged 182.0 pins and Britton was next with 155.5 pins.

Lincoln has competed in three other tournaments in 2018-19, including the Bearcat Hammer Open (Oct. 26-28), where Theroff led the team with 161.1 pins per contest with a single-game high of 189, good for 55th overall. Taylor placed two spots behind Theroff at 57th with an average of 159.8 and a total pin count of 799 while Lee had a single-game high of 200 and knocked down 785 pins to finish in 59th for the tournament.

The Blue Tigers also competed in the Warhawk Invitational (Nov. 9-11), with Lee taking 61st out of 129 bowlers to lead Lincoln with 847 pins. Britton had LU's next-best performance, averaging 161.4 pins with a single game-high of 176, while Taylor bowled a 176 twice and averaged 150.8 pins for the tournament. LU opened the season at the Mid-States Invitational (Oct. 20-21), where Lee placed 32nd out of 238 bowlers with an average of 172.8 pins. Theroff (158.2 pins) finished 66th and Taylor (158.2 pins) finished 66th.
