Ryan Brown and
Carlon Hosten helped the Lincoln men's indoor track & field team open the 2019-20 season in winning fashion on Friday (Dec. 6) at the Bob Timmons Challenge, hosted by the University of Kansas.
Brown won the triple jump with a distance of 15.77m, helping Lincoln sweep the top-three, with
Kizan David placing second (15.26m) and
Salif Mane claiming third (14.73m). Brown later took third in the long jump, turning in a distance of 7.25m, while David edged him for second with a leap of 7.26m.
Hosten, meanwhile, won the 200m in 21.79, while
Brandon Heath (22.66) and
Lijae Holness (22.77) respectively took fourth and fifth.
Javden Douglas checked in at 10th with a time of 23.22. In the 60m, Hosten was the runner after clocking in at 6.92 while Douglas took 10th in 7.08.
In the 4x400m relay, the foursome of Heath, Holness,
Lorenzo Davis and
Martrez Tureaud finished third with a time of 3:24.72. Holness (50.72) also led LU with a fifth-place finish in the 400m while Heath (50.81) came in sixth and Tureaud (52.74) took ninth.
Souleyman Seck rounded out the Blue Tigers with a fifth-place finish in the 60m hurdles after timing in at 8.63.
