BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lincoln cross country team opened its 2024 campaign by finishing 11th out of 14 programs at the Bearcat Classic, a 5k race hosted by Southwest Baptist University on Friday evening (Sept. 6).

Shaneal Clarke Giddings led the Blue Tigers with a time of 21:55.35 to place 52nd in the scoring. Newcomer Britney Brown had LU's second-quickest time of 23:02.22 to take 63rd in the scoring while Shevanae Thomas added 66 points with her time of 23:30.08.

Odeshia Nanton provided 68 points by clocking in at 23:50.81 and Denita Jackson timed in at 25:19.12 to claim 73rd in the scoring. Rounding out the Blue Tigers was Nehlia Mills who posted a time of 25:48.01.

Lincoln will continue its 2024 slate on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Larry Young Invitational, which will be hosted by Columbia College at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.
