COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Lincoln cross country team took ninth at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 7) to finish the regular season with its third top-10 finish of the season. The 5k race, hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis, was held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
The Blue Tigers, who also posted top-10 finishes at the Larry Young Invitational (seventh) and Bearcat Classic (fourth), scored 229 points to take ninth at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational.
Maria Diamond led Lincoln with a time of 19:35.88, placing her 24th overall. Doreen Onchangu finished in 42nd, timing in at 20:45.89, and Shaneal Clarke-Giddings clocked in at 21:48.08 to come in 61st.Â
Shevanae Thomas ended the race with a time of 22:43.87 while
Nehlia Mills finished with a time of 23:18.68.
Nattesha Palmer clocked in at 23:22.22,
Chrissani May posted a time of 23:46.98, and
Odeshia Nanton rounded out Lincoln with a time of 24:28.39.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the MIAA Championship, which will be hosted by Lincoln at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo. on Friday, Oct. 20.
