ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Lincoln women's golf team placed 15th in its first three-round tournament of 2021-22, the Triton Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis at Norwood Hills Country Club on Sunday and Monday (April 10-11).
Saikati Gikonyo led Lincoln with a sum of 258. After posting scores of 89 in each of the first two rounds, Gikonyo carded an 80 on Monday to end the tourney tied for 50th.
Maria Villamil had LU's next-lowest total of 260, as she put together scores of 85, 86 and 89.
Nyah Singh finished two strokes back of Villamil with a 262. Singh opened the tournament with an 89, fired an 86 in the second round and carded an 87 in the final round.
Marsya Nazri, meanwhile, shot a three-round 265 with scores of 90, 90 and 85. Rounding out Lincoln was
Elliott Hull, who tallied scores of 92, 96 and 91 for a final sum of 279.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the 2022 MIAA Women's Golf Championship tournament, which will be played in Newton, Kan. at Sand Creek Station Golf Course from April 21-23.
