JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's golf team heads to Bolivar, Mo. next Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 20-21) to play in the Panthers Invitational, hosted by Drury University at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club.
It's the second tournament of the season for the Blue Tigers, who opened their 2021-22 slate this week with the 22nd Annual NSU Women's Golf Classic in Broken Arrow, Okla. on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 13-14).
Saikati Gikonyo led Lincoln with a 164 after shooting an 80 on Monday and an 84 on Tuesday.
Nyah Singh followed with a 176 while
Elliott Hull rounded out the Blue Tigers with a 195.
The Blue Tigers have one more player active this fall, as
Maria Villamil joins the team after a successful high school career in her hometown of Bogota, Colombia. Villamil posted seven top-10 finishes in interclub tournaments, and posted an additional five top-15 results. At one point, Villamil was ranked as high as 53rd in the junior division of the Colombia Golf Amateur rankings.
Following the Panthers Invitational, LU will return to Oklahoma for the Broncho Classic on Oct. 4-5, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma at The Golf Club of Edmond. Lincoln will also play this fall in Henderson State University's Central Region Preview in Hot Springs, Ark. on Oct. 11-12 before and at the Midwest Classic, hosted in Warrensburg, Mo. by the University of Central Missouri on Oct. 18-19.
