JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - After helping the Lincoln men's basketball team achieve its fifth winning season in the past six years,
Sai Witt,
Quinton Drayton and
Cameron Potts were recognized on the All-MIAA team, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced on Wednesday (March 3).
Witt was named to the All-MIAA second team, and Drayton was an All-MIAA third team selection. Potts was chosen as an All-MIAA honorable mention, and became just the second player in LU history to be named to the MIAA All-Defensive team.
Witt nearly averaged a double-double for the season, scoring 16.1 points and grabbing 8.2 rebounds per game. Witt led the league in offensive rebounding with 3.4 per night, the 22nd-best average in NCAA Division II, and he ended the year ranked eighth in the league in scoring and sixth in rebounding. Witt shot .560 from the floor, the MIAA's third-best percentage in 2020-21, and he blocked 16 shots to finish eighth in the conference in that category. Witt additionally supplied 29 assists and 27 steals.
Drayton finished second among the Blue Tigers, and ninth in the MIAA, with 16.0 points per night, and his 134 total made field goals rank 16th in the country. Drayton scored 353 points, the 23rd-most by any DII player, and he ended the regular season 15th in the conference with a .457 field goal percentage. Drayton was the only LU player to start all 22 games, and he averaged 4.8 rebounds to go with 32 assists and 23 steals.
An all-around excellent player,
Cameron Potts is one of just four NCAA Division II athletes with a triple-double this year, and he averaged 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Potts' 46 steals are the fifth-most in the country, and he additionally ranks 16th in the nation in assists per game and third in the country in total assists. Potts played 734:36 minutes in 2020-21, the ninth-most of any Division II player.
Lincoln went 12-10 this season and earned the No. 6 seed in the MIAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. LU will open the postseason on Wednesday evening in St. Joseph, Mo. with a 7:00 p.m. CST contest against No. 3 Missouri Western.
