Yetna Named HBCU D2 All-American Second Team

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - After leading the Lincoln men's basketball team in scoring and helping guide the program to the GLVC tournament title over the weekend, Franck Yetna has been named the HBCU D2 All-American second team. Nationally syndicated radio show BOXTOROW, the sponsor of the rankings since 2009, announced the All-American teams on Wednesday (March 12).

Yetna, who was named to the All-GLVC first team, has averaged 15.2 points this season as well as 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals. During the regular season, Yetna led the GLVC in offensive rebounds (2.9, the 44th-most in NCAA Division II) and finished eighth in the league total rebounds (6.6) per game. Yetna also posted the GLVC's eighth-best field goal percentage of .495 while averaging 15.8 points per contest, the 10th-most in the league.

He additionally had 40 blocks, the fourth-most in the GLVC, and dished 34 assists to go with 34 steals. Yetna led a Blue Tiger defense that finished the regular season ranked fourth in the country in field goal defense (.391) and seventh nationally in scoring defense (63.6).

Yetna helped Lincoln win its first-ever conference tournament championship on Sunday (March 9), finishing one point shy of a double-double in LU's 58-51 win over Missouri-St. Louis. The Blue Tigers clinched a bid to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1981 and will play Lake Superior State in the opening round of the Midwest Regional on Saturday (March 15) in Springfield, Ill. at 2:30 p.m. CDT.
