KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team held a 3-1 lead entering the final 15 minutes of regulation, but a pair of late goals allowed Truman State to end the match in a draw, 3-3. on Sunday (Sept. 20).
Lincoln is now 3-0-3 overall and 2-0-2 in GLVC play. The Blue Tigers continued their run of going unbeaten in regular season matches, as LU has not dropped a match outside of the postseason since 2024. Truman State, meanwhile, is now 3-2-2 on the season and 2-1-2 against league competition.
Junior Grizzelle gave the Blue Tigers an early 1-0 advantage in the 19th minute by accepting a pass from
Nathan Quashie and kicking the ball past the TSU keeper. The Bulldogs responded with a goal in the 43rd minute after being awarded a penalty kick. While keeper
Vincent Osei made a save on the penalty shot, the ball ricocheted back to the shooter, who found the back of the net on his second attempt.
Jonathan Nemorden scored on a penalty kick in the 55th minute to allow LU to take back the league, and
Ackeem Mullings scored off a pass from
Jaden Grant to put the Blue Tigers on top, 3-1, with 18:30 remaining in the contest.
A red card assessed on Lincoln led to Truman State pulling back within one on an unassisted goal at the 75:30 mark, however, and another penalty kick opportunity allowed the Bulldogs to score the equalizer in the 79th minute. Osei made three saves while
Felipe Mattos stopped one shot.
Makwe Nkoana, who had five total shots, and Nemorden, who attempted four, tied for the team-lead with three shots on goal apiece. Quashie and
Shadrack Eshun each had a shot on goal and Grizzelle finished the day with three total shot attempts.

Akwasi Agyepong also attempted shots for the Blue Tigers.
Lincoln travels to Kansas City, Mo. on Wednesday (Sept. 20) to play Rockhurst at 7:30 p.m. CDT.
