JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Upper Iowa scored 42 points in the second half to hand the Lincoln women's basketball team a 79-59 loss on Saturday (Feb. 7).
Hallie Williamson led the Blue Tigers with 20 points and 11 rebounds while
Isis Sanders added 16 points, four boards, an assist and a steal.
Aaliyah Smith came close to having a double-double herself, ending the day with eight points and eight rebounds.
Upper Iowa (13-10, 9-6 GLVC) shot .483 for the contest and .480 from long distance, including .800 in the fourth quarter. Lincoln (4-18, 2-13 GLVC) forced UIU into 13 turnovers and held the Peacock bench to just 12 points. The first quarter was closely contested, with the Blue Tigers leading until a trey in the final seconds allowed the Peacocks to take a 16-14 advantage.
Taelyn Smith blocked a shot, scored five points, pulled down three rebounds and dished an assist.
Bella Borgos led LU with three assists, chipped in four points and and collected a rebound.
Kiara Cabrera, meanwhile, had four points, two boards and an assist.
Kaleah Toran closed the scoring for LU with two points and a pair of rebounds as well as three steals and an assist.
Kennedy Jones finished the day with two steals, an assist, and a pair of rebounds.
Lincoln travels to Quincy, Ill. on Thursday (Feb. 12) to play Quincy at 5:30 p.m. CST.
