Blue Tigers Ground the Flyers, Win 84-68


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Tyler Chapman scored 34 points, Max Ekono and Matthieu Biembongo each posted double-doubles, and the Lincoln men's basketball team beat Lewis, 84-68, in Jason Gym on Thursday evening (Feb. 5).

Chapman additionally dished four assists, pulled down two rebounds and had a steal. As a team, the Blue Tigers shot .453 overall, .400 from three-point range, and went a perfect 10-for-10 at the free throw line. Lincoln (9-13, 3-11 GLVC) committed just four turnovers on the evening and out-rebounded Lewis (4-17, 2-11 GLVC), 42-29.

Biembongo pulled down 13 rebounds, scored 10 points, recorded a steal and blocked two shots. Ekono, meanwhile, provided 11 points, 10 boards, four assists and a steal. Lincoln led for 38:51 of the game's 40 minutes and was especially strong in the second half, holding the Flyers to .222 shooting from long distance and .308 overall. 

Amar Kadic was Lincoln's second-leading scorer with 22 points and six rebounds. Rashad Williams came off the bench to supply four points, a block and a rebound, and Malcolm Davis closed the scoring with three points, three assists and a pair of rebounds.

Sterling Rivera dished three assists and collected a rebound while Elliott Yorke had an assist, helping Lincoln drop 16 dimes on the night. D'Necco Rucker rounded out the Blue Tigers with two boards and an assist.

Lincoln hosts Upper Iowa on Saturday (Feb. 7) in Jason Gym at 3:00 p.m. CST.
