Blue Tigers Drop Two on Saturday

ALTON, Ill. - The Lincoln baseball team dropped a double-header to UHSP on Saturday (Feb. 21). The Eutectics took game one, 10-3, and won the second game, 16-4.

A fielder's choice and an error allowed Nate Lucas to score in the top of the third of the opener, and Lincoln (3-3) later got back on the board in the seventh inning on a two-RBI single from Hunter Mitchell that drove in Diego Silva and Daren Walters-Ansell. Andy Srebroski IV led LU with two hits and Felix Marquez and Easton Stuckenschneider each had one.

Dave Watkins III and Devin Hardy each struck out two UHSP (5-8) batters in Saturday's first game. Stuckenschneider led the LU defense with five putouts while Jayden Little, Lucas and Hunter each contributed three.

In the second game, UHSP took a 3-0 lead before the Blue Tigers got on the board in the third via an RBI single by Walters-Ansell that plated Ryan Lepper. Tim Fleming homered in the fourth inning, bringing in Blythe Blakey as well, and Srebroski capped the scoring for the Blue Tigers with a base hit that allowed Fleming to score for the second time on Saturday.

Mitchell fanned two Eutectic batters and Kooper Houvouras and Cam Hoelscher had one strikeout apiece. Blakey and Jacob Schulte both had hits, with Schulte leading LU defensively with seven putouts. Srebroski led the Blue Tigers with four assists.
