INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - In the Lincoln women's basketball team's first-ever trip to Indianapolis, the Greyhounds ended up prevailing, as UI earned a 71-41 victory on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 31).
Isis Sanders and
Bella Borgos each provided nine points, four rebounds and an assist for the Blue Tigers, who forced 13 turnovers and pulled down 36 total rebounds.
Taelyn Smith ended the day with five points and five boards, as well as three steals and two assists.
Indianapolis (5-16, 4-9 GLVC) led from start to finish, shooting .452 from the field and receiving 38 points from its bench. Lincoln (4-16, 2-11 GLVC) limited the Greyhounds to just a .296 accuracy rate from three-point difference, but made only six treys throughout the course of the contest.
Kaleah Toran came off the bench to supply eight points, six boards and three steals.
Kiara Cabrera added five points, four rebounds and an assist to the Blue Tiger cause while
Kennedy Jones had a steal to go with three points and three rebounds.
Aaliyah Smith blocked two shots while
Hallie Williamson rounded out the Blue Tigers with two points, a pair of assists, a block and three boards.
Lincoln returns home to host Lewis on Thursday (Feb. 5) at 5:30 p.m. CST. It will be LU's annual Think Pink Game, and fans are encouraged to join the Blue Tigers in wearing pink as they help promote breast cancer awareness.
