Blue Tigers Fall in First-Ever Trip to Indianapolis


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lincoln men's basketball team played their first-ever road game against Indianapolis on Saturday (Jan. 31), but the Greyhounds ended up winning, 101-73.

Elliott Yorke, Jr. led the Blue Tigers with 17 points and pulled down three rebounds while Amar Kadic finished with 13 points, five rebounds, a pair of blocks, a steal and an assist. Tyler Chapman also ended the day in double figures, tallying 10 points, two assists and a steal.

Indianapolis (11-10, 9-4 GLVC) enjoyed some hot shooting, as the Greyhounds were .567 from the floor and .600 from beyond the arc. Lincoln (8-13, 2-11 GLVC) shot .388 overall and .909 at the free throw line, but just .282 from three-point range. Eleven different players scored at least two points for LU, which received 43 total points from its reserves. The Blue Tigers were also credited with 17 assists.

Robin Discamps came off the bench to provide five points, four rebounds and an assist. Tyler Lucas grabbed two rebounds and Rashad Williams contributed four points, three rebounds, a blocked shot and an assist to the Lincoln effort. Solomon Oraegbu, meanwhile, ended the day with seven points, a steal, an assist and a rebound.

Sterling Rivera had three points and an assist for the Blue Tigers, and Malcolm Davis supplied six points, four boards and a pair of assists. Matthieu Biembongo chipped in four points, collected four rebounds and blocked two shots. Max Ekono finished the day with two points, two boards and a block. D'Necco Rucker rounded out LU with two points, a rebound and an assist.

The Blue Tigers host their annual Think Pink game on Thursday (Feb. 5) when Lincoln hosts Lewis at 7:30 p.m. CST. Fans are encouraged to join the Blue Tigers in wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
