JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Four members of the Lincoln men's basketball team scored in double figures as the Blue Tigers beat Maryville, 86-67, in Jason Gym on Thursday night (Jan. 22).
Matthieu Biembongo posted a double-double, as he had 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Tyler Chapman led LU with 24 points, six assists and two steals, and also grabbed five rebounds.
Solomon Oraegbu once again reached the 20-point plateau, as he ended the evening with 21 points, six boards, four assists and a steal. Rounding out LU's double-digit scorers was
Malcolm Davis with 12 points, five rebounds and a takeaway.
Lincoln (8-10, 2-8 GLVC) shot .464 from the floor, .423 from three-point range and .917 at the free throw line while holding a commanding 51-32 advantage in rebounding. The Blue Tigers held Maryville (2-17, 0-11 GLVC) to .343 shooting overall and .280 from long distance, helping LU to hold the lead for 31:39 of the 40 minute contest. LU turned 16 offensive rebounds into 22 second chance points and led by as many as 21 late in the second half.
Max Ekono attacked the glass for 15 rebounds and chipped in four points to go with a steal and three assists.
Tyler Lucas also finished with four points and dropped two dimes while pulling down a pair of rebounds.
D'Necco Rucker closed the scoring for LU with two points and two boards.
Rashad Williams also had two rebounds in Thursday's win.
The Blue Tigers will be back in Jason Gym on Saturday (Jan. 24) to host McKendree at a time still to be determined due to forecasts calling for inclement weather on that day. Stay tuned to Lincoln's social media platforms (
