JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - On a freezing cold day in Jefferson City, both teams struggled to heat up their shooting as the Lincoln men's basketball team fell to McKendree, 60-48, on Saturday (Jan. 24).
The Blue Tigers shot .340 from the field while the Bearcats shot .377. McKendree (15-4, 8-3 GLVC) made only eight treys while Lincoln (8-11, 2-9 GLVC) was held to five, though LU finished with a 34-33 edge in rebounding. Outside of a brief 3-2 lead for Lincoln under a minute into the game, McKendree led the entire way.
Tyler Chapman was LU's leading scorer after finishing with 13 points, and
Matthieu Biembongo had nine points and nine rebounds to go with two blocks, an assist and a steal.
Solomon Oraegbu provided eight points, seven boards, two assists and a steal to the Lincoln cause, and
Tyler Lucas added seven points and a rebound.
Max Ekono led the Blue Tigers with 10 rebounds, scored two points and dished two assists.
Rashad Williams had four points on the afternoon and
Robin Discamps scored two.
D'Necco Rucker claimed three rebounds.
Malcolm Davis, meanwhile, closed the scoring with three points, two steals and a rebound.
Lincoln travels to Springfield, Ill. on Thursday (Jan. 29) to play Illinois-Springfield at 7:30 p.m. CST.
