JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's basketball team had the lead at halftime, but a big second half helped Truman State to leave Jason Gym with a 69-56 win on Friday (Jan. 2).
Laini Joseph led LU with 14 points and seven rebounds and dished two assists to go with a steal.
Hallie Williamson added 10 points and two rebounds while
Isis Sanders finished with nine points, two rebounds, a pair of assists and a team-high three steals.
After entering the second quarter down 12-9, Lincoln (4-8, 2-3 GLVC) shot .444 in the second quarter while out-scoring the Bulldogs, 22-10. Truman State (6-6, 3-1 GLVC) rallied from that 31-22 deficit in the third quarter, scoring 26 points compared to 16 for the Blue Tigers. TSU added 21 more points in the fourth to hold on for the win.
Taelyn Smith scored six points and had a block as well as four rebounds.
Kennedy Jones recorded three rebounds, two assists and a steal while
Kiara Cabrera finished with seven points, five boards and a team-high three assists.
Kaleah Toran came off the bench to provide two points, two rebounds and a steal.
Bella Borgos provided five points, six rebounds, a steal and an assist while
Aaliyah Smith rounded out LU with three points and three boards.
Lincoln is back at home on Sunday (Jan. 4) to host Quincy at 1:00 p.m. CST.
