SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Lincoln women's soccer team remained resilient despite facing 24 shots, but a goal in the 79th minute allowed Drury to escape with a 1-0 win over the Blue Tigers on Sunday (Sept. 21).
Drury (3-1-1, 2-0-1 GLVC) held Lincoln (0-2-2, 0-2-1 GLVC) to just five shot attempts, but four of those were on the goal. The Blue Tiger defense stifled the Panthers offensively, as just five of DU's 24 shots were on the net. Goalkeeper
Michelle Granja made three saves while shutting out the Panther offense through 78 minutes.
Mia Greathouse led Lincoln with two shots on goal while
Cierra Bradley and
Caitlyn Phillips had one shot on goal apiece.
Rachael Noel had LU's other shot attempt of the afternoon.
Lincoln will be off until next Sunday (Sept. 28) when the Blue Tigers host Missouri-St. Louis at Dwight T. Reed Stadium at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
