JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team broke a stalemate in the 60th minute to beat Southwest Baptist, 1-0, on Friday night (Sept. 19). The victory keeps Lincoln's perfect start to the season going, as the Blue Tigers are now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in GLVC play.
Nkouka Loubassou scored the only goal of the contest off of a deflection following a free kick set up by a penalty to the Bearcats. Both teams played well defensively, with Lincoln finishing the game with slight advantages in both total shots (nine) and shots on goal (six). Southwest Baptist (2-3-0, 0-2-0 GLVC), meanwhile, had seven total shot attempts, five of which were on goal.
Loubassou had two shots on goal, and three overall, as he helped Lincoln keep the pressure on the Bearcat defenders during the second half, with eight of Lincoln's nine shots coming during the final 45 minutes. Four other Blue Tigers -

Kevon Maitland and
Rajae Lawrence had LU's other two shot attempts of the evening.
Defensively,
Vincent Osei made five saves while picking up his first shutout of the season.
Lincoln will play its first road GLVC match of the season on Sunday (Sept. 21) when the Blue Tigers travel to Springfield, Mo. to play Drury at 2:30 p.m. CDT.
