KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln baseball team wrapped up its series with Truman State on Sunday, with the Bulldogs prevailing, 11-1.
Lincoln (5-39, 3-25 GLVC) got on the board in the top of the opening frame when
Easton Stuckenschneider drove in
Miguel Padron in the inning's second at-bat. Padron led the contest off with a double before taking home on Stuckenschneider's single.Â
Truman State (12-31, 9-19 GLVC) was kept off the board in the bottom of the first, but scored six runs on six hits in the second to take control of the contest.
Chase Morris had a hit for Lincoln while
Ryan Lepper struck out one Bulldog batter on the mound.
Carter Otto closed the game and struck out three.
Stuckenschneider and Morris each were responsible for four putouts while
Isaiah Figueroa and
Jayden Little were both credited with three putouts. Morris and
Blythe Blakey each had an assist.
Lincoln closes the season in a few days with a four-game series against Missouri S&T in Rolla, Mo. The Blue Tigers and the Miners meet on Thursday (May 1) at 3:00 p.m. CDT, play a double-header on Friday (May 2) at 12:00 p.m. CDT and then play one more time on Saturday (May 3) at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
