Blue Tigers Fall in Thursday Twinbill

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln baseball team dropped two games to Quincy on Thursday (April 17), as the Blue Tigers fell in the opener, 8-2, and lost in the night cap, 15-3.

In the first game, Quincy scored an unearned run in the top of the first and later took a 2-0 lead on a sacrifice fly in the third. After turning a double play to end the top of the fourth, Lincoln got on the scoreboard in the bottom half of the inning when Miguel Padron and Jayden Little hit back-to-back home runs. That tied the game, but the Hawks hit a solo homer in the fifth inning and held on for the win.

Chase Morris also had a hit for Lincoln and starting pitcher Canon Feist struck out two Quincy batters. Little led LU with seven putouts while Padron finished with six and Ryan Lepper added five. Isaiah Figueroa finished with three assists and Morris and Ty Ollison each contributed two.

In the second game, Quincy scored in each of the first six innings, including four runs in the top of the fourth. Ollison plated Easton Stuckenschneider on a home run in the bottom of the fourth and, in the fifth, Felix Marquez scored on a sacrifice fly hit by Andy Sreboski IV.

Padron had two hits and Ollison, Sreboski, Stuckenschneider and Marquez had one hit apiece. Little posted five putouts and Stuckenschneider and Jacob Schulte were each responsible for four. Morris provided three assists and Little added two. On the mound, Jacob Zahner struck out two batters while Mac Biggs and Blythe Blakey each fanned one.
