Lincoln Explodes for 15 Runs Against Parkside


KENOSHA, Wis. - The Lincoln baseball team 15 runs on 20 hits, but the Blue Tigers dropped both games of a double-header to Parkside on Sunday (March 9). LU dropped the first game, 13-4, and fell in the second, 22-11.

An error allowed Andy Sreboski IV to score first run of the day in the top of the first inning, but Parkside (13-1) scored the next 10 to take control of the contest. Lincoln (2-14) got back on the board in the top of the sixth when singles by Felix Marquez and Drake Davidson respectively scored Isaiah Figueroa and Ty Ollison. Figueroa was also part of Lincoln's final run of the opener, as his hit down the left field line brought in Brody Johns.

Sreboski, Johns and Blythe Blakey also had hits while Ed Noy had three strikeouts on the mound and Ryan Lepper fanned one. Ollison posted a team-high five putouts and Jayden Little recorded three while Noy and Figueroa each had a pair of assists.

In the second game, the Rangers scored in the first inning but Lincoln answered in the third inning, tying the game at one when Sreboski scored on single by Blakey. LU's other 10 runs came over the final three innings, including three on home runs. Little hit a solo shot while Jared Fulghem hit a two-run homer that drove in Chase Morris. 

Little went 3-for-4 at the plate and Morris and Sreboski each had two hits. Miguel Padron, Jacob Schulte, Mac Biggs, Davidson and Figueroa each one hit. Ollison struck out two opposing batters and Little posted nine putouts. Sreboski finished with five assists, Blakey tallied three and Morris had two.

Lincoln hosts Missouri-St. Louis in a four-game GLVC series next weekend at Vivion Field. On Friday (March 14) the teams play at 4:00 p.m. CDT. On Saturday (March 15), LU and UMSL playa double-header beginning at 12:00 p.m. CDT. The series ends on Sunday (March 16) with a 12:00 p.m. CDT contest.
