SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Lincoln baseball team closed its series at Illinois-Springfield on Saturday (March 29), as LU fell to UIS, 9-1, in the opener and 10-0 in game two.
Lincoln's score came in the top of the seventh inning of the first game, as
Easton Stuckenschneider hit a solo home run over the left field wall.
Ty Ollison,
Jayden Little and
Ryan Lepper also had hits for the Blue Tigers while
Ed Noy notched a strikeout on the mound.
Drake Davidson posted a team-high five putouts and
Brody Johns, Andy Sreboski IV and Little each recorded three. Ollison led the LU defense with three assists.
In game two, Lincoln (2-26, 0-12 GLVC) trailed just 2-0 entering the bottom of the fourth, but a three-run inning allowed Illinois-Springfield (16-10, 10-5 GLVC) to take control of the contest.

Jacob Claborn and Ollison had one strikeout apiece on the mound. Little, Stuckenschneider, Sreboski and Davidson each had a hit. On defense, Little led LU with six putouts, Sreboski and Davidson each had three and Lepper and
Jared Fulghem finished with two apiece. Ollison and
Chase Morris each tallied two assists.
Lincoln travels to Bolivar, Mo. next weekend for a four-game GLVC series against Southwest Baptist. The teams meet on Friday (April 4) for a 5:00 p.m. CDT contest, then play a double-header on Saturday (April 5) at 12:00 p.m. CDT. LU and SBU will close the series on Sunday (April 6) with a 12:00 p.m. CDT contest.
