BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lincoln baseball team led from start to finish as the Blue Tigers beat Southwest Baptist, 7-4, for their first conference win as a member of the GLVC on Sunday (April 6). The win came in the first game of a double-header, with SBU evening the series with a 12-2 victory in the second contest.
Isaiah Figueroa led game one off with a single, took second on a base hit by 
Jayden Little, and scored on a double from 
Miguel Padron to give LU a 1-0 lead with no outs on the board. 
Ty Ollison drove in Little during the next at-bat, and Padron scored on a ground out by 
Easton Stuckenschneider as Lincoln (3-27, 1-13 GLVC) finished the first inning with a 3-0 lead.
Southwest Baptist (13-19, 6-8 GLVC) closed the gap down to one in the bottom of the second inning on a two-run single, but that was as close as the Bearcats would get to catching the Blue Tigers. The game remained 3-2 until the top of the sixth, when Little, who reached on a walk, scored on a double hit by Ollison. The Blue Tigers padded their lead in the eighth as a single into right field plated both Little and Figueroa, and Padron later scored on a throwing error to make it a 7-2 contest.
Canon Feist struck out eight while allowing only two earned runs while 
Jacob Claborn picked up his first save as a member of the Blue Tigers. Lincoln had nine hits, including two apiece by Figueroa, Stuckenschneider and Andy Sreboski IV. Ollison led the LU defense with eight putouts and Little and 
Drake Davidson each supplied six. Feist and 
Chase Morris both turned two assists.
The second game was scoreless entering the bottom of the third, but the Bearcats took advantage of four hits and an error to put six runs on the board. Lincoln's runs both came in the top of the seventh, which began with Stuckenschneider reaching base on an error. Morris hit a triple to bring in LU's first run of the contest, then scored himself on a ground out by 
Ryan Lepper. Sreboski also had a hit in Sunday's second game.
Davidson struck out three SBU batters, 
Carter Otto fanned two and 
Mac Biggs notched one strikeout. Stuckenschneider led Lincoln with seven putouts while Padron and 
Blythe Blakey each had three.
Lincoln remains in Bolivar to play another double-header against Southwest Baptist on Monday (April 7). First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CDT.
