ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lincoln women's basketball team played a road game against Lewis on Saturday (Feb. 8), with the Flyers prevailing, 77-41.
Chase Giddings scored 13 points to pace the Blue Tigers in Saturday's game, which was a rematch of a contest played in Jefferson City, Mo. on Dec. 5. Giddings also had a steal and a rebound while
Kennedy Jones chipped in three points, secured eight boards, blocked a shot, dished an assist and tallied four steals. LU had 12 total steals on Saturday and forced 19 turnovers.Â
Lewis (19-2, 13-1 GLVC) enjoyed some hot shooting, hitting at a .509 rate overall, a .538 clip from long distance and a .933 percentage at the free throw line. Lincoln (1-19, 0-14 GLVC) hung with the Flyers in the first quarter, shooting .500 from the field and pulling to within 22-15 of Lewis through the contest's first 10 minutes, but a 15-2 run in the second quarter put the Flyers in control of the game.
Imani Harris had seven points, four rebounds and a steal on the afternoon while
Isis Sanders added six points, three boards and a pair of assists.
Emma Wolken finished with three points and three steals as well as a rebound and a block.
Biance Stocks also tallied three steals and scored two points to go with a pair of rebounds.
Kiara Cabrera also scored two points and pulled down three rebounds while
Lyssa Sportsman made a free throw, collected two rebounds and blocked a shot.
Kaleah Toran rounded out the Blue Tigers with four points, two boards and an assist.
Lincoln returns home on Thursday (Feb. 13) to host Truman State at 5:30 p.m. CST.
