Yetna Scores 34 as Blue Tigers Win 17th Game


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Franck Yetna scored 34 points as the Lincoln men's basketball team rolled to a 93-60 victory over Quincy in Jason Gym on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 15).

The win improves Lincoln to 17-7 on the season and 9-7 in GLVC play.

Yetna also grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots and dished an assist as the Blue Tigers shot .529 from the field and .483 from three-point range. Lincoln led by as many as 35 at one point in the second half, as LU shot .588 from the floor while out-scoring the Hawks, 52-25, over the final 20 minutes. LU also finished with a 44-33 advantage on the glass and held Quincy (8-16, 3-13 GLVC) to .345 shooting for the contest.

There were six lead changes and one tie during the first six minutes of the game, but Yetna made a three, Max Ekono hit a jumper and Yetna drained a three to help LU start to pull away. An 8-0 run, all by Yetna, gave Lincoln a 23-11 lead with 11:30 left in the opening half, and a trey by Malcolm Davis later put LU on top by 12 with 7:48 on the first half clock. Quincy fought back to pull within 41-35 at halftime and got within 43-40 early in the second half, but a 13-0 run by the Blue Tigers, capped off by a trey from Tyler Chapman, but Lincoln back in the driver's seat.

Andreas Fuller nearly tallied a second-straight double-double, finishing with 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists, a block and a steal. Ekono led LU with 12 boards and added four points, three assists and a steal to the winning cause. Chapman had seven points and two rebounds on the afternoon as well as an assist and a steal. Davis, meanwhile, finished with six points, three boards and three assists.

Mikey West provided nine points and six rebounds and also matched Fuller with five assists to go with a block. Tyson Robinson came off the bench to supply eight points and a steal while Matthieu Biembongo blocked two shots, collected two rebounds and notched a steal while chipping in five points.

Caleb Wright hit a three late in the contest and Isaiah Robinson added two points and a pair of assists. Youssouf Timera rounded out Lincoln with a pair of rebounds.

The Blue Tigers travel to Kansas City, Mo. on Thursday night (Feb. 20) to play Rockhurst at 7:15 p.m. CST.
