JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln football honored its seniors prior to its game against Missouri S&T on Saturday (Nov. 8). The Miners ended up getting the win, however, by a final score of 59-0.
Before the contest, Lincoln honored 12 graduating players:
Patrick Atkins,
Jeremiah Gill,
Chris Gonzalez,
Jordan Hoskins,
Josiah James,
Will King III,
Donte Moore,
Dontonio Moore,
Kaleb Niebuhr,
Yasir Talib-Harrison,
Leroy Tellis and
JaDarrius Thomas. The Blue Tigers also celebrated their two senior managers,
Mya Davis and
Jamahreon Smith.
Tellis had an outstanding afternoon, intercepting two passes, breaking up a third, and making four tackles.
Isaiah Franklin also had four tackles to go with an interception while
Donte Moore blocked a kick. Gonzalez and
Nate Harden each had six takedowns while Gill and Talib-Harrison both notched five.
Jacob McGhee was credited with a hurry and led Lincoln (2-8, 0-7 GLVC) with seven tackles. Hoskins and
Renard Willis added four tackles apiece while
Devayne Johnson and
Ke'Ron Blankumsee each provided three.
Jaylen Thomas completed nine passes for 62 yards and
Marcus Harris caught six passes for 58 yards. King came in during the second half and threw for 44 yards while adding 31 rushing yards.
JaDarrius Thomas gained 24 yards on the ground and
Jaden Holloway had a 25-yard reception.
On special teams,
Max Roth averaged 32 yards on punts and
Luka Sari averaged 34.5. Sari additionally averaged 65.0 yards on kickoffs.
Armani Turner, meanwhile, gained 57 yards on kick returns.
Lincoln closes its season next Saturday (Nov. 15) in Liberty, Mo. with a 1:00 p.m. CST game against William Jewell.
