Hallie Williamson scored 15 points and
Laini Joseph added 12, but the Lincoln women's basketball team fell in its 2025-26 season opener, 62-43, to Thomas More on Friday afternoon (Nov. 14). The game was played at Kentucky Wesleyan as part of the Midwest Women's Basketball Crossover Classic.
Thomas More (1-0) took advantage of a big first half to set the tempo, scoring 32 points while shooting 13-for-34 from the field. The Blue Tigers came out strong in the second half, however, as a three-pointer by Williamson keyed LU onto a 12-2 run to open the third quarter. The Blue Tigers ended up scoring 20 in that period, but could not get closer than within eight of the Saints.
Kiara Cabrera led the Blue Tigers with seven rebounds and scored six points to go with two steals and an assist. Williamson had a block and pulled down four rebounds while Joseph finished the day with five boards, a pair of assists, a block and a steal.
Kennedy Jones also grabbed five rebounds, led LU with three steals, and dished three assists to go with two points.
Chase Giddings matched Jones with three assists and had three rebounds as well as two points.
Taelyn Smith had LU's other block of the contest and chipped in two points while pulling down four rebounds.
Kaleah Toran rounded out the Blue Tiger scoring with three points and a rebound.
Anjelle Kerr collected three rebounds while
Bella Borgos closed out LU with two boards.
Lincoln continues its season on Saturday (Nov. 15) by playing Kentucky Wesleyan at 3:30 p.m. CST.
