LIBERTY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's soccer team had the lead at halftime, but William Jewell rallied with a pair of second-half goal to win, 2-1, over the Blue Tigers on Friday night (Oct. 31).
Angela Reynolds scored on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute to give Lincoln (1-9-4, 1-9-3 GLVC) the early advantage. The Blue Tigers had eight total shots in the contest, including six on goal. The Cardinals, meanwhile, finished with nine shots on goal in 13 total attempts.
William Jewell (2-10-3, 2-8-3 GLVC) did not get on the board until the 70th minute, when an unassisted goal by the Cardinals tied the game at 1-1. With just over seven minutes remaining in the match, WJC scored the game-winner on a penalty kick.Â
Michelle Granja made seven saves in the net while Reynolds had three total shot attempts, two of which were on goal.
Ivanna Faria also had two shots on goal while
Madison Wimberly and
Jia-Li Diaz each had one.
Mia Greathouse also attempted a shot for the Blue Tigers.
Lincoln will close its 2025 season on Sunday (Nov. 2) by traveling to Kansas City, Mo. to play Rockhurst at 12:00 p.m. CST.
