ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Lincoln women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Maryville on Friday afternoon (Oct. 3).
Maryville (6-0-3, 4-0-2 GLVC), which entered the matched ranked No. 16 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches Division II poll, held Lincoln (0-4-2, 0-4-1 GLVC) to just four shot attempts in the contest. The Saints took the lead in the 11th minutes, but the Blue Tigers kept MU off the scoreboard the rest of the half, entering intermission facing just a one goal deficit. Maryville added its second goal in the 50th minutes, and then scored twice more late in the second half to preserve the victory.
Michelle Granja made 13 saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Ivanna Faria finished with two shot attempts while
Angela Reynolds recorded one.
Jia-Li Diaz notched a shot on goal.
Lincoln heads to Lebanon, Ill. on Sunday (Oct. 5) to play McKendree at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
