HARTSBURG, Mo. -
Divya Gunasegar is leading the women's field while the Lincoln men's golf team is in eighth after the first round of the WWU Fall Invitational, played on Monday (Oct. 27). William Woods University is hosting the two-round tournament at Eagle Knoll Golf Club.
Gunasegar shot a 77 on Monday and has a three-stroke lead over the two next-closest competitors, each of whom scored 80 during the first round. Lincoln has two golfers in the top-10, as
Seannae Norville-Smith shot an 84 to end the day in eighth place. Both Gunasegar and Norville-Smith are competing as individuals.
On the men's side,
Alejandro Tovar Cardona led LU on Monday with a 78, placing him in a tie for 28th overall.
Ayden Howard and
Jett Maasen are each next with scores of 81, tying them for 36th on the leaderboard.
Zebulon Barnes carded an 86 while
Carlos Thomas rounded out the Blue Tigers with a 96.
Weather permitting, the second round of the WWU Fall Invitational will be played on Tuesday (Oct. 28).
