Hull's Goal Gives Lincoln 1-0 Win Over Quincy

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team, ranked No. 21 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches Division II poll, will enter the final three matches of the season without suffering a loss in 2025 after beating Quincy, 1-0, on Friday night (Oct. 24). Lincoln improved its record to 9-0-4 overall and 7-0-4 in GLVC play and moved step closer to locking up a berth in the league championship tournament.

After neither team scored in first half, the Blue Tigers took the lead in the 49th minute when Christopher Hull headed the ball into the net. Kevon Maitland got the assist on the play, and the Lincoln defense kept the Hawks off the board for the remainder of the night. Quincy (7-5-2, 5-5-1 GLVC) was held to just one shot on goal as the Blue Tigers held a 15-7 advantage on total shot attempts.

Vincent Osei picked up his third solo shutout of the season while Lincoln recorded its fourth shutout of the year. Makwe Nkoana led LU with three shots, one of which was on the goal, and Hull, Maitland, Joseph Lozano and Rajae Lawrence finished with two shots apiece. Akwasi Agyepong, Adam Benrahou and Santiago Brisco tallied one shot on goal apiece, and Kanye Francis also had a shot attempt on Friday night.

Lincoln will close out its regular season home slate on Sunday (Oct. 26) by hosting Truman State at 2:30 p.m. CDT. A ceremony honoring LU's seniors will take place prior to the match.
