INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lincoln men's basketball team was picked to finish second in the GLVC while the LU women's basketball team was chosen 15th in the 2025-26 GLVC Preseason Coaches Polls.
The Lincoln men's basketball team received 174 points and one first-place vote to check in at second in the coaches poll. Last season, the Blue Tigers won the GLVC tournament to earn a bid to the NCAA Division II tournament after finishing fourth in the conference during the regular season. The team that LU beat in the semifinals of the GLVC tourney, Missouri S&T, was the unanimous number one team in the league after receiving 14 first-place votes and 196 total points. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.
Missouri-St. Louis, the team that Lincoln defeated to win the GLVC tournament, received 161 points to check in at third in the poll. Rockhurst (141 points) and Drury (121) rounded out the top-five.
In the women's preseason poll, Lincoln received 22 points to be voted 15th. Drury collected 10 first-place votes to top the preseason poll with 191 points while Maryville was picked second with 165 points. Close behind is Lewis, which garnered four first-place votes and 163 total points to be selected third. Missouri-St. Louis was chosen fourth with 158 points and Missouri S&T, which received the final first-place vote, was rounded out the top-five with 141 points.
