FAYETTE, Iowa - The Lincoln women's soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals to beat Upper Iowa, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 19).
Cierra Bradley broke a scoreless tie in the 48th minute by taking a pass from
Ivanna Faria and sending the ball into the net. Faria later notched a goal of her own, as passes from
Kennedy Coles and
Jia-Li Diaz led to her kicking the ball past the keeper for a 2-0 LU advantage.
Lincoln (1-7-3, 1-7-2 GLVC) finished with a 15-13 advantage on total shots, though the Blue Tigers and Upper Iowa (3-9-2, 1-8-1 GLVC) each had nine shots on goal.
Michelle Granja made nine saves and picked up the shutout victory in the goal. Faria led LU with four shots on goal while Bradley was next with three.
Angela Reynolds also totaled four shot attempts, including one on the goal, and
Madison Wimberly had LU's other shot on the net.
Carolina Dos Santos,
Shareina Langevine and Diaz tallied one shot attempt apiece.
The Blue Tigers will be back at their home turf in Dwight T. Reed Stadium on Friday (Oct. 24) to host Quincy at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
