JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Illinois-Springfield scored a pair of first half goals to beat the Lincoln women's soccer team, 2-0, on Friday evening (Oct. 10).
Illinois-Springfield (2-6-3, 1-5-2 GLVC) scored on a shot off a header pass in the third minute of the match, then later took a two goal lead in the 43rd minute on an unassisted score.
Michelle Granja made seven saves for Lincoln (0-6-2, 0-6-1 GLVC), which ended the night with seven total shots, two of which were on goal.
Ivanna Faria had two shots for LU while
Juli Wismar and
Madison Wimberly each had shots on goal.
Cierra Bradley,
Jia-Li Diaz and
Angela Reynolds also had shot attempts.
Lincoln is back at home on Sunday (Oct. 12) to host Indianapolis at 12:00 p.m. CDT at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
