JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri-St. Louis shot .492 from the floor and held the Lincoln women's basketball team to .310 shooting as the Tritons beat the Blue Tigers, 78-53, on Thursday evening (Jan. 16).
Imani Harris led LU with 13 points and five rebounds, and she also tallied an assist and a steal.
Kiara Cabrera and
Isis Sanders finished with nine points apiece, with Cabrera also grabbing five rebounds, notching a game-high four steals and dishing an assist. Sanders, meanwhile, had a rebound and an assist.
Missouri-St. Louis (12-3, 6-2 GLVC) raced out to a 10-0 lead in the opening quarter, but Lincoln (1-13, 0-8 GLVC) bounced back, scoring eight of the next 14 points to make it 16-8 after 10 minutes of play. In the second period, the Blue Tigers clawed their way back to within 30-24 on a pair of free throws by
Imani Harris, but UMSL ended up scoring 25 in the third quarter to pull away for good.
Emma Wolken had five points and a rebound while
Biance Stocks provided five points, three boards, an assist and a steal.
Kennedy Jones pulled down two rebounds,
Lyssa Sportsman had two points and two boards as well as an assist, and
Kaleah Toran contributed three points and two rebounds.
Kennedy Jones came off the bench to add seven points and four rebounds.
Lincoln travels to Kirksville, Mo. on Monday (Jan. 20) to play Truman State at 5:00 p.m. CST.
